The inflorescence is a lax spike of small, dark blue flowers. The lower petals is whitish.
Fruit:
The fruit is a capsule, twice as broad as long.
Leaves:
The leaves are small, rounded and in opposite pairs along the stems. Very rare in Britain but long established at Bearminster, Dorset.
